Barnett and the Bassinet: The painting that started it all. It is the fifth painting Mia finished for her first art exhibition of Black Thiles' short stories. This painting is inspired by her short story Barnett and the Bassinet — a project that allows literature to inspire art and art to inspire literature.

Without revealing too many of the artist's secrets, here are a few facts to keep in mind as you explore the painting. Even though this was the fifth painting to be finished, it was the first painting Mia decided to create as a professional artist. Well, kinda... she started painting this with the idea of having some artwork inspired by her book on the wall. So she went out and bought some materials and began painting. She thought this piece was going to be just for fun, but it ended up turning into a new profession.

As she continued to work on this painting, she wondered, 'What if I can illustrate my own books? Wouldn't that be cool?'
