Milk by Viola

Milk by Viola is a one-of-a-kind original artwork by Mia Nordberg, created over four years and completed in 2026. Rich in texture and layered with paint, the piece reflects the artist’s personal and creative evolution over time.

The male figure remains untouched from the original 2022 version, while the woman, flowing hair, and elongated necks represent Mia’s newer raw style and visual trademark. The long necks — often placed in tubs, cups, pools, or vases — symbolize suppressed emotions and the feeling of being emotionally bottled up.

Created for the first Black Thiles Art exhibition, Black Thiles’ Short Stories, the painting is inspired by Mia’s short story Milk by Viola — part of a project where literature inspires art, and art inspires literature in return.
